The short answer is, ABSOLUTELY!
Our biggest suggestion is to DO YOUR RESEARCH!
The type of trap for the specific animal (meaning what is the right trap to catch the animal)
The type of trap that you're permitted to use in your state, county, or city
Whether you need to have a permit
Relocation requirements
The main thing we would suggest is to make sure you purchase the correct trap. There are so many different traps out there and you want to make sure you get the right one for your pest.
Also, each state, county, and city has their own rules on what types of traps can be used for each animal. Make sure you're looking into those rules and regulations before you start trapping.
Make sure that your state, county, or city does not require you to have a permit for trapping. Many times states will have rules in place that you apply for or purchase a permit before you trap. EVEN IF ITS ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY.
Lastly, do your research on what to do with the animal once you trap it. Some states require that it be relocated a certain distance away from the trap site. Others require reporting it to state agencies. Most states have a protocol for the type of euthanasia techniques you're allowed to use if the animal has some type of disease.
